College planning starts with students transitioning from 8th to 9th grade successfully. The Cohort is designed to acclimate students to high school academics and address the developmental needs of freshman through Freshman Boot Camp, Flight Days, Advisory, Cedar Crest Overnight and Freshman Seminar.
In the fall, freshman eager to explore their interests should take advantage of extra curricular opportunities by contacting Chris or Rosalyn Diaz-Ortiz.
In October, students take the 8/9 PSAT.
In November, students use Google Sites to build their E Portfolio. This is a critical aspect of developing their "brand" and student profile for what's Beyond HSC. The E Portfolio acts as a Student Success Plan that drive goal setting and the mastery of transferable skills.
Also in November, students lead their first Student Led Conference.
During January and February freshman will complete the Career Interest Inventory on Naviance.
During March, students lead their second Student Led Conference.
During April and May students must finish the year strong! Students should be focusing on solidifying the best final grade possible while maximizing their learning.
It is critical that students use the summer wisely. You should be involved in programs, working and being productive with your time!
